Want to know more?
Below is a list of websites to more information regarding the animals we breed and raise. For some of our animals there is very little information developed due to their rarity. Links to websites, articles, veterinarians, transporters, and registries are provided as well. These are valuable resources for us, and are here for our own reference, but of course are available for you too, we highly recommend you check them out!

Dairy Goat Nutrition/Management
Below you will find an outline of our herd management practice with regards to vaccinations, deworming, nutrition, and general healthcare of our herd. Lessees may use this page as a guide, as this will fulfill the minimal care requirements as outlined in the terms of your lease agreement. For purchasers, please note, that while we may choose to not over vaccinate our herd others may choose to vaccinate against all possible disease, or choose not to vaccinate at all as per their own judgement. No two farms are alike! The information we are providing is not intended to replace veterinary advise. It is only here to help give buyers a perspective of the care our animals receive. Thank you!

Herd TestingBlood testing for CAE/CL/Johnes is performed every year or as needed per new animals entering the herd. TB/brucellosis is tested every other year for all milking does.
-All goats 1+ years old are tested annually. -We originally purchased our breeding stock confidently from well known herds who have maintained a disease free herd status for more than ten years! As we begin herd rebuilding, we will be testing our animals on a yearly basis to continue to monitor our herd. *New livestock entering the herd are quarantined for 60 days and tested 2x during this period, REGARDLESS of where they were purchased from!* * If you wish to have CURRENT results for our animals we would be happy to share the most current group test. If you wish to have a current test for an animal offered for sale, and we do not have one readily available, you as the buyer will be responsible for the testing fee. |
